Lynda Welte is President of Blueprints for GREEN Design, manufacturers’ sales representatives with over 30 years of design, purchasing, manufacturing and marketing experience, with a focus on the hospitality industry. She has been a speaker for hospitality and interior design courses and seminars at universities and associations. She is a founding committee member and past president of the Washington DC Metropolitan Chapter of NEWH, Inc. of which she has served as a Board member for many years. She is a past president, recipient of the 2001 and 2013 NEWH Woman of Excellence Awards and nominee for NEWH’s Woman of the Year Award. In 2018, she was inducted to the NEWH College of Fellows. With years of volunteer political and community service experience, she served on the steering committee for the Cats Benefit held at The National Theatre for the benefit of The Whitman-Walker Clinic. TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax) Committee of the Loudoun County Visitors Association. Chair, International Community Development Program heading up School from the Heart, a charitable joint venture between NEWH, Inc. and UNICEF. Advisory committee for Hospitality at High Point Market. In 2016, Lynda launched Small Talks, a modern, high tech version of 17th century salons. Small Talks brings people of different generations and multiple disciplines to present ideas and exchange thoughts about new business opportunities.
